Getting started
- Set up as a parent. On first launch, read the consent screen, choose a 4-digit PIN, and create your child's profile.
- Hand the device to your child. They tap the big Take a Picture button and photograph any everyday object — a cup, a ball, a shoe.
- Learn, story, questions. StoryPic names the object aloud, tells a gentle story about it, and asks a few simple questions. Every answer ends in encouragement.
- Check in anytime. Open the parent area (person icon, then your PIN) to adjust language, level, voice, and speed, or read gentle progress notes.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the photos my child takes?
Each photo is used once, only to identify the object in the picture. Photos are never stored, saved, or shared — not on our servers and not in the app.
Does StoryPic work offline?
Taking new pictures needs an internet connection. Without one, your child can still pick an object from the built-in picker and enjoy offline stories, and all saved stories replay anytime.
Which languages are supported?
English, हिन्दी (Hindi), Español (Spanish), தமிழ் (Tamil), and বাংলা (Bengali). You can set the app language and the story language independently in the parent area.
I forgot my parent PIN. What do I do?
For your family's privacy, PINs are stored only on your device and cannot be recovered remotely. If you can't recall it, you'll need to reinstall the app and set up again. Saved stories and progress are stored on-device, so reinstalling removes them.
How do I change the narrator voice or reading speed?
Open the parent area with your PIN, then go to story settings. You can choose a narrator voice, adjust the reading speed, and pick one of 7 supportive difficulty levels.
How do I delete our data?
Everything StoryPic knows lives on your device. Use the delete option in the parent area, or simply remove the app — either way, all profiles, stories, and progress are permanently erased.
Are the progress notes a medical assessment?
No. Progress notes are supportive observations about words practiced and stories completed. StoryPic is a learning companion — it does not diagnose, treat, or assess any condition.
Are there ads or in-app purchases?
No. StoryPic has no advertising, no purchases, and no tracking in the child experience.
